Alex von Furstenberg: Great success in the financial industry

Alex von Furstenberg graduated from Brown University in 1993 and began his career immediately as a trader on Allen & Company’s Risk Arbitrage Desk. He then proceeded to form two successful private investment firms, Arrow Capital Management, LLC and Ranger Global Advisors, LLC.

Arrow Capital Management, LLC was his first project, a private alternative asset management firm focused on event- driven value investing, primarily in global public equities. Mr. Von Furstenberg was the Chief Investment Officer and Co- Managing Member of the firm during a period where the firm annualized at 22.4% for eight straight years. Ranger Global Advisors, LLC was Mr. Von Furstenberg next project; this is a family office concerned with opportunistic value- based investing and is currently managing more than $1 billion total assets.

Alex Von Furstenberg has found great success in the financial industry. These successes made Barry Diller to select Mr. to help grow their revenue numbers. Mr. Von Furstenberg serves on the Board of Directors for InterActiveCorp (AIC) a leading internet company with more than 50 fast- growing, highly related brands serving loyal consumer audiences. In spite of the economic recession, IAC has been able to produce impressive revenues of $1.64 billion in 2011 and a net income of $99.36 million.

Mr. Von Furstenberg also serves as partner and Director at Diane von Furstenberg Studio, LP where he has been able to lead the organization from $1 million annual revenues to more than $200 million. Furthermore, Alex Von Furstenberg serves on the Board of W.P. Stewart & Co. Ltd, a global investment advisor focused in the provision of equity portfolio management

Mr. Von Furstenberg is a dedicated philanthropist, who is keen at creating tangible change. The Diller- von Furstenberg Family Foundation created by Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller is led by Mr. Von Furstenberg. He sees to it that all funds contributed to the foundation are spending effectively. Since its establishment a decade ago, the foundation has been able to donate its total contributions amounting to $30 million in several non- profit organizations involved in community building, education, human rights, the environment, health and arts. In addition, he is a board member of Friends of the High Line, a non- profit partner of New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Moreover, Alex Von Furstenberg serves diligently on the Board of Directors of “Our Time”. He is also a member of the National Advisory Council of ACRIA.
